Ranbir Kapoor is one of the most versatile actors in Bollywood, and his filmography is a proof of it. If he pulled off the role of a charming mute and deaf Murphy in 2012 film Barfi! with elan, he nailed the act of Ved, a guy who finally finds his true calling, in Imtiaz Ali’s Tamasha. And now, the 35-year-old actor has stepped into the shoes of Sanjay Dutt for a biopic.
When many would have called it a biggest risk for his career, Ranbir went ahead to pay tribute to his favourite actor in the film. After months of waiting, the much-anticipated trailer of Sanju was released on Wednesday (May 30), and the fans can’t stop going gaga over Ranbir’s act.
And a decade after his debut film Saawariya, Ranbir has once again gone nude for his upcoming film.
Ranbir, who has gone nude for one scene in Sanju when he is being interrogated by police, was asked if was intimidated while shooting that scene. To which he replied, “I went nude in my first film itself when my towel dropped. I am very shy in my real life but when the cameras are on, I am not shy as I am portraying a character so you have to be nude in your emotions and physically.”
It is for the first time that Ranbir has collaborated with Rajkumar Hirani. Earlier, he was seen in a cameo in Hirani’s PK. Talking about his experience of working with the director, Ranbir said, “Working with world’s greatest director Raj Kumar Hirani is every actor’s dream and I am speaking for every actor who is sitting on this platform. ”
He added, “Working with him is something else. It is so easy and seamless that you don’t realize you are working with such a great director but when the film releases the kind of love his other films have got even if we will be able to get 20 per cent of that love, I think I will be so happy as in my life, I got to work with Raj Kumar Hirani.”
Sanju, which also stars Anushka Sharma, Sonam Kapoor, Vicky Kaushal, Manisha Koirala, Dia Mirza and Paresh Rawal, is set to hit the screens on June 29.
