Shankar’s 2.0 has been in news for the longest time. From talented star cast to VFX to the lavish audio launch to Akshay Kumar’s look, Rajinikanth’s film has grabbed eyeballs. But more than anything, it’s the film’s release date that has left many puzzled.
The film, that was supposed to release on Diwali 2017, was pushed to January 2018 release owing to pending VFX work. But the makers failed to meet the deadline, and 2.0 was further postponed to April.
And the latest buzz suggests that 2.0 won’t release in April too. Trade Analyst Surendhar MK told BollywoodLife that the film has been pushed further by a few months.
“The film will not release in April. The movie has been pushed by a few months. The makers are planning on a mid-August release,” he told the website.
The exhaustive post-production work is expected to wrap up by July, and the makers are now eyeing an August release for the much-anticipated sci-fi.
Going by this, Rajini fans will have to wait a little longer to see their favourite Chitti on the big screen once again.
