CHENNAI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday called up DMK working president M K Stalin and Rajya Sabha MP Kanimozhi and enquired about DMK chief M Karunanidhi’s health.
A medical bulletin issued by Kauvery Hospial treating the DMK chief on Thursday night said that there was a “slight decline” in Karunanidhi’s health due to age related ailments.
In his official twitter handle, Modi, who is on a five-day Africa tour, tweeted, “Spoke to Thiru @mkstalin and Kanimozhi Ji. Enquired about the health of Kalaignar Karunanidhi Ji and offered any assistance required. I pray for his quick recovery and good health @kalalignar89.”

The bulletin said that DMK chief was being treated for fever due to urinary tract infection with intravenous antibiotics and fluids. He was being monitored and treated round the clock by a team of medical and nursing professionas, providing hospital level care at home.
Considering his medical condition, the medical team strongly advised for restriction of visitors.
BJP state president Tamilisai Soundararajan who visited Karunanidhi’s Gopalapuram residence on Friday morning said that she prayed God for the leader’s speedy recovery.
