
NEW DELHI: On Wednesday, the equity markets opened on a sedate note, keeping the market range bound, like on Tuesday.
30-share BSE Sensex opened with a healthy gain of 90 points at 37,756.24 but flattened out in early trade. At 10.11 am, the gauge was up 36.36 points at 37,702.16. The broader 50-share NSE Nifty was up a marginal 3.50 points, trading a shade under the 11,400-mark.
The IT and pharma sub-indices were losing more than 0.25 per cent each while the Nifty PSU Bank sub-index was up almost a per cent.
Asian Paints, Tata Steel, SBI and coga were gaining the most in early trade.
