NEW DELHI: In a goodwill gesture, Hero Cycles on Saturday came forward to help a girl from Vizhuppuram, Tamil Nadu after she donated Rs 9000 towards the Kerala flood relief.

Anupriya had been saving the money for four years to buy a bicycle for herself. But as Kerala is witnessing worst floods in close to a century, the girl decided to donate all her piggy bank savings for the flood victims.

The girl’s gesture was appreciated all over the social media, including Twitter after a user posted about the same.

Reacting to the post, Hero Cycles said it appreciated Anupriya’s gesture towards humanity. “Dear Anupriya, we appreciate your gesture to support humanity in the hour of need. You would get a brand new cycle from us. Please DM your address or contact us at,” the cycle company posted on Twitter.

Later, Pankaj M Munjal, chairman and managing director of Hero Motors Company, calling the girl a “noble soul” announced that Anupriya would get one bike for every year of her life.

Munjal, taking to Twitter, wrote, “Anupriya, parnam to you. You are a noble soul and wish you spread the good around. Hero is too pleased to give you one bike every year of your life. Please share your contact on my account. Love you and best wishes. Prayers for Kerala.”

Hailing the move, Twitter users appreciated Hero Cycles for its benevolent gesture towards the girl.
